Amid battling with coronavirus pandemic, the city will be facing another challenge, cyclone Nisarga today.
It will cross north Maharashtra and Gujarat coasts between Harihareshwar in Raigad district and Daman, the India Meteorological Department has reported. As the cyclone will make landfall on the Mumbai coast today, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas has tweeted about the same.
Her mother Madhu Chopra and brother Siddharth, who also live in Mumbai, PeeCee has shared precautionary measures on social media and urged the citizens to stay safe.
In her tweet, Priyanka also mentioned how the year 2020 feels ‘relentless’. Her tweet read, “#CycloneNisarga is making its way to Mumbai, my beloved home city of more than 20 million people, including my mom and brother. Mumbai hasn’t experienced a serious cyclone landfall since 1891, and at a time when the world is so desperate, this could be especially devastating.”
“This year feels relentless. Please everyone find cover, take precautions and follow the guidelines outlined. Please stay safe everyone.”
Even Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram account and shared the Dos and Donts amid the cyclone Nisarga and urged everyone to be safe.
